We have vacancies for Approved Electricians working from our base at Hatston, Kirkwall. Work will be varied, but primarily in renewable energy systems. Some work will also be outwith renewable systems, but generally on commercial or industrial systems – We don’t do domestic work as a rule.
Ideally, you would have an SJIB /JIB grading, experience in industrial systems – trunking and conduit work, motor control gear, control systems, PLCs and relays, awareness of risk assessment & working safely with equipment, the ability to measure, work to plans (method statements), read technical diagrams and communicate, present and report technical information as appropriate.
Experience in delivering planned preventative maintenance and reactive work as well as carrying out installation work.
Full UK Driving License. But we recognise aptitude as well as qualifications and experience, so would rather hear from you to discuss your skills and experience, than not hear from you at all! We are flexible folk.
We offer rates in excess of SJIB, with the prospect of development, 30 days paid leave per year, a company pension scheme and the opportunity to get involved in a sector of the industry with huge growth potential. We also offer on and off the job training for some of the more “diverse” aspects of the job, including working at height, fibre optic and microwave communications, mechanical, instrumentation and high voltage training opportunities
