All You Need To Know
This is a condensed summary of what you need to know about DC0079 (Accelerated Loss of Mains Change Programme).
Your generator will need to comply with changes to the distribution code by 2022.
If your generator was connected before February 2018, then its likely to need some changes to relay settings, and in a small number of cases, the relay itself replaced.
Payments may be offered for the changes by DNO’s – Payments are more likely to be offered at the start of the process (August 2019) than they are at the end of the process (2022).
The application is now open, along with the internet portal through which applications are made.
To make applications, you will need to gather some technical information about your installation, and submit them through the portal.
Applications that are accepted then need to make their changes, test them and send in evidence in order to claim the payment – Changes made and tested by a recognised contractor are less likely to require witnessing by a DNO representative.
Any generator who has not made the changes by 2022 will not be eligible for any payments, and will be subject to enforcement by their DNO.
BJRE are ready to help you with all of this, including interpreting the requirements, and are listed as a Support Organisation on the ENA website. We are undertaking to keep you up to date with information as more of it becomes available, by updates to this website, as well as email alerts.
